We are always looking for ways to help improve people’s lives through healthy eating, exercise, nutrition, and lifestyle. This month we would like to bring attention to Stephen’s amazing story.
Stephen,66, joined our Move More, Manage Your Weight and Cook Well service in June 2018. When he joined, Stephen weighed 108kg and was a Type 2 Diabetic with high blood pressure. His goal was to reduce his weight by 5% over 12 weeks and learn more on how to maintain a healthy lifestyle through regular exercise and a healthy diet.
After signing up the to our services, Stephen made significant changes to his lifestyle. He started walking a lot more, started going to the gym two-three times a week and attended at least two Move More sessions per week. He also attended our Manage Your Weight course and Cook Well sessions where he learnt to cook healthier food at home.
By March 2019 Sttephen had lost 33kg, weighing in at 85 kg and had a healthy BMI of 24.5. Stephen has now come off Type 2 Diabetes medication completely and reduced his blood pressure medication. He says: “I am now able to walk much further without pain and my shortness of breath has improved drastically.”
Stephen is an inspiration to us all, and we hope that the support he has received over the past year has helped him make permanent changes to his life. We could not be happier for Stephen!
